    Area Agency on Aging

Mission:  The mission of KIPDA Area Aging on Aging is to promote and ensure meaningful and timely services are available for all older adults and persons with disabilities to improve their health, safety and overall well-being, and to provide leadership to the aging network through planning and coordination.

The Division of Social Services addresses issues as varied as the Consumer Directed Options program for disabled persons of all ages, to the HomeCare program for frail elders in need of assistance in order to remain in their homes, to Health Promotional Programs to provide education on healthy choices and lifestyles. These programs are coordinated by KIPDA Social Services staff and funded by a variety of federal, state and local dollars as well as grants from private and public agencies. The KIPDA Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is a part of the Social Services Division of KIPDA designated by the Kentucky Office of Aging Services to coordinate services for elders in the seven county area which includes: Bullitt, Henry, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble.  Click here to learn more about the services available in the KIPDA region.

    • Create multi-year plans for the development of comprehensive, community-based services which meet the needs of older adults in their communities.
    • Provide information on and advocate for available services, programs, and policies that affect seniors within the service area.
    • Coordinate Older Americans Act, state General and other funds which implement the service delivery system. This is done primarily through contracts with local service providers.
    • Provide access to services in local communities. In the KIPDA region, this includes information and assistance, assessment, case management, and transportation.
