DIVISION OF SOCIAL SERVICES
The Division of Social Services addresses issues as varied as the Consumer Directed Options program for disabled persons of all ages, to the Home Care program for frail elders in need of assistance in order to remain in their homes.
KIPDA also provides Health Promotion programs which provide education on healthy choices and lifestyles. Services are available to elders in the seven county area which includes Bullitt, Henry, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble.

FY 2016 Area Plan Executive Summary
Each May, we celebrate Older Americans Month to recognize older Americans for their contributions to the nation. This year, in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Older Americans Act (OAA), focus is on how older adults are taking charge of their health, getting engaged in their communities, and making a positive impact in the lives of others. The theme for Older Americans Month 2015 is Get into the Act.

KIPDA Needs Assessment
The Kentuckiana Regional Planning and Development Agency (KIPDA), Division of Social Services is conducting a needs assessment for Bullitt, Henry, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble counties. This needs assessment will help KIPDA determine the needs of older adults, caregivers and persons with disabilities. The information learned will help KIPDA plan their social services for the next 5-6 years. The needs assessment study has been approved by the University of Louisville IRB.
